Asphyxiation
Also known as breath control play or asphyxiophilia. This practice includes intentional oxygen depletion to the brain in order to achieve sexual arousal and is categorized as paraphilia because of potential for serious injury or even death. Methods used for asphyxiation include hanging, chest compression, suffocation with plastic bag, self-strangulation or combination of these. A person engaging in this activity is informally called a gasper.
